Real Ceremony: Romantic Renewal Of Vows at Palladium Don Carlos Santa Eulalia
Last weekend I was part of an incredible vow renewal ceremony, arranged and hosted by the Palladium Don Carlos Hotel in Siesta.
Due to the privacy of the ceremony, I won't be going into too much detail, but I couldn't stop myself from sharing some of the experience, if purely just to tell you how amazing the hotel team were.
The ceremony was for an amazzzing couple, who had joked that if they made it to 15 years of marriage, they would renew their vows. And so after celebrating their anniversary in March this year, they decided to honour their 15 years of marriage with a ceremony in Ibiza.
The couple didn't have any specific requirements, other than that they wanted to have the ceremony at sunset, and in contrast to their wedding day where they were surrounded by people, they would renew their vows in a private ceremony with only the three of us present. They were very laid back and just happy to be having a special moment together, to tell each other how much they still mean to one another, and to repeat their vows once again.
I met with Frederica the guest service manager from the Palladium Don Carlos Hotel, where the couple had booked to stay, to discuss a possible location for the ceremony, and from there she went completely above and beyond.
Frederica and the staff created a beautiful, romantic and private ceremony for the couple, they worked hard planning, decorating and even arranged surprise gifts.
The ceremony was magical.
Despite Frederica and I worrying about wind and rain up to a mere 10 minutes before, we were determined to keep it an outdoor ceremony so that we could get the full advantage of the dusk light. Luckily the rain missed us, and although a little breezy, we didn't notice at all. The privacy of the ceremony made it so intimate, that the only things that the couple were concentrating on were the words being spoken and the meaning of why they were there.
Their script included their story from their very first meeting, to getting engaged, bringing up children together, funny anecdotes, song lyrics, and a poem which spoke volumes about their relationship.
The couple signed their vow renewal certificate, and I played music and took photos afterwards so that they can remember this incredibly special evening, and after the ceremony, the hotel had organised a private meal, champagne, and even a mini wedding cake!
